Speed typing test online3/14/2024 ![]() And as I am using office keyboards, I would imagine (if my comment has aligned with how you feel), the issue would be exacerbated for you, as you prefer shallow membrane keyboards. While I know there are many different switches out there with different travel, different feelings, different sounds, and differents depths a keystroke will be recorded, it is expensive to try everything, I have swapped out switches between main blue, red, and brown, but I cannot get a tester for the low profile switches, and I cannot justify purchasing many more switches for the sake of experimentation when I can just get a cheap office keyboard and be done with it.Īs a result, I typically type faster, for longer, and with greater comfort on a membrane keyboard. While I enjoy using the mechanical keyboard a lot more than membrane (I don't know how to describe it, it just feels, crisp?), it does make my wrists more prone to pain, as there is still more travel and required force required for each keystroke than my $20 default office keyboard/mouse kit. ![]() The (default/more common?) taller mechanical keyboard hurt my wrists like hell to type on for multiple hours on end day in and day out, and switches that aren't clicky I find more difficult to get used to (can't feel tactile switches when typing quickly so I always fully depress the switches, and same goes for linear, but that is because they aren't intended to have tactility). I have a low profile mechanical keyboard (not sure if that is the same as the shallow you mentioned, possibly shallow means a shallow stroke depth to register a keystroke? Don't know, I am not the most involved person when it comes to mechanical keyboards, but if you meant shallow as in keyboard height, then maybe my comment will be useful) Please post these requests to a subreddit such as /r/buildapcforme.ħ) General componentry or technical questions related or unrelated to Linus Media Group are allowed as of but need to receive a flair at the time of submission.Ĩ) Keep politics, religion, and other controversial topics out of this subreddit.Īlso, for those who post video suggestions, whilst appreciated, there's no guarantee they'll be read by a member of the LMG team.
